Coaching for Self-Actualization: Part I

“The science of psychology has been more successful on the negative than on the positive side  It has been revealed to us much about man’s shortcomings, his illness, his sins, but little about his potentialities, his virtues, his achievable aspirations, or his psychological health. We must find out what psychology might be if it could free itself from the stultifying effects of limited, pessimistic and stingy preoccupations with human nature (Motivation and Personality, 1954, p.354).

In an environment where being a psychologist meant either following a Freudian psychoanalytic path or looking

From the Greek “metaphora” which means “transport”, the metaphor has several advantages in coaching.  The metaphor is one of the effective means to overcome blocking situations, to support or to bring about change.  It consists of taking a step back from a given situation by working with your imagination.  This tool is of great importance as it creates space for solutions to emerge by working on imagery or a visualization in the form of a metaphor.  It opens other perspectives for the coachee.

Small Local Businesses Face Mask Dilemma as Mandates Are Eased

When your state lifts the masking mandate, how should you conduct business?

According to a survey by Near Media, the majority of consumers support masking. The consumers also prefer businesses which strictly enforce it.

Consumers could respond using one of four choices: More likely to do business with them; Neutral, will not affect my spending; Less likely to do business with them; or I will never shop there again.

“Women and older consumers are most supportive,” said Mike Blumenthal, co-founder of Near Media and founder emeritus at GatherUp. “The majority of consumers clearly support strict masking enforcement and prefer

Small Business 101 – Understanding the Basics of a Small Business Corporation

Many folks dream about starting their very own small business but learning what steps to take initially is one of the biggest challenges. Don’t get off to a bad start, though, because owning your own business can be as much fun as starting any other kind of corporation. What do I mean by that? Well, if you’re a young entrepreneur and have some great ideas for making money online, then maybe a corporation could be just right for you. Small businesses are a dime a dozen these days, after all, and a corporation allows you to protect yourself, your intellectual property, and your company (all while having a legal identity separate from your own) – all important things in today’s highly competitive online marketplace.

small business 101

One of the first things you’ll need to decide on is whether or not you will form a small business corporation. This will likely be determined by your goals, so make sure they are clearly defined and include the elements that are most important to you. If you’re just looking for some additional investment capital, you might consider a small business corporation instead. There are a number of benefits to this option that should be weighed carefully before you make up your mind.

A small business corporation will be virtually tax exempt, which can go a long way towards ensuring you won’t owe thousands upon thousands of dollars in income tax. Of course, you’ll still need to pay a reasonable amount in taxes, so the amount of savings could vary depending on your current financial situation. The tax benefit can also help you with financing your business, especially in the case of a large purchase such as a building or vehicle. In general, the more assets you own, the better off you’ll be.

Forming a small business corporation requires that you’ll have a written statement explaining the nature and purpose of your company. In addition, it will require you to register with your state’s department of revenue. Many small businesses use their home address as the main company headquarters, although you should choose a physical office if at all possible. Regardless of your choice of mailing address, it’s important that you have a separate location that is both officially registered and has proper office furniture.

Because a small business corporation doesn’t have its own employees, you’ll have the ability to expand without much difficulty. Any profits that your business makes can be immediately passed onto your next generation’s retirement fund without any problems. The other nice thing about a business corporation is that you’ll be able to deduct expenses. This alone can save you a significant amount of money over the course of your lifetime, so it’s definitely a good idea to look into this.

Forming a limited liability company also allows you to expand into other industries, provided that you do so in compliance with any applicable laws. Generally, you’ll have to determine whether or not you’re going to open a store, have a manufacturing facility, provide professional services, or provide some combination of services. You’ll also need to get the necessary licenses to run your business in the manner that you’d like. There are some federal laws that regulate these various aspects of business operations, so make sure you research them thoroughly. This will also give you some peace of mind, since you won’t be liable if the company doesn’t succeed.

Now that you know a little more about the advantages and disadvantages of a small business corporation, you should be better prepared to become aware of the various options available. If you’re really concerned about being limited in how you run your business, an S corporation may be the perfect solution. This will allow you to protect your assets and personal assets while still giving you the freedom to choose your own tax structure and additional corporate benefits.

It’s also important to remember that there are other small business types out there, including sole proprietorships and partnerships. If your goal is to achieve all of those things but you just don’t want to incorporate, you can still create a small business corporation. The important thing is to do your research. It’s up to you to decide whether or not being in the business of incorporating is right for you, and hopefully you’ll be able to find the perfect solution.

Small Business Tips For Small Business Owners

It is not an exaggeration when we say that starting a small business comes with its own set of unique challenges. Just like starting any venture, you will face many surprises along the way as you strive to achieve your goals. And just like in any endeavor, you will also need to learn new skills along the way. So, do not get discouraged – this is how you will become better at marketing your business. Read on as we dissect each of the key sections that comprise this comprehensive guide to help you get started on the right foot.

small business 101

Marketing 101. Just as you definitely need to equip yourself with the proper knowledge, small business owners too need to understand the basic principles of effective marketing. This includes such essentials as knowing your competitors, understanding consumer psychology, knowing the art of copywriting, and much more. Just because it does not come packaged with a degree or a diploma does not mean that you cannot learn what you need to know.

Advertising 101. The world of advertising may seem quite confusing at first. After all, who could possibly know what kinds of advertisements are effective, right? Well, this is precisely what small business owners need to know, as they learn how their chosen marketing mediums work. From direct mail campaigns to radio ads, there are tons of advertising options available to them.

Branding 101. Just as you cannot stand a brand that has no personality, neither can you run a small business that has no unique personality. Developing a strong company identity is crucial if you want your products or services to be memorable. After all, the reason why consumers keep coming back to a particular product or service is because they have a feeling of trust in it. Make sure you give your customers every reason to want to be your customer by having an appealing logo, creating a consistent brand color scheme, and focusing on attractive branding materials like commercials or even t-shirts.

Making Your Customers Part Of The Business. As a small business owner, you may lack the capital to hire big name advertising firms. If this is the case, at least make sure you incorporate an element of branding within your company. By having a website that features your products and services as well as an email newsletter that keeps your customers informed of the goings on within the company, you will be branding yourself and increasing your ability to retain customers.

Marketing 101. While a strong marketing plan is crucial to growing any business, it is especially important for new businesses. Before you start to market, identify your target market. From there, you can draw up an effective advertising plan that will allow you to reach out to potential customers. While it can be costly to advertise during this time, it is an investment that will reap rewards for years to come.

Is The Industry Leader? Small businesses are often overlooked in terms of making their mark on the industry. Rather than sitting back and watching others dominate the market, take the initiative and become the leader within your industry. You may think that there aren’t enough customers to support a business. Don’t allow this to be an excuse!

Business 101 isn’t always easy to follow, but it is essential. By staying on top of industry trends and keeping up with changes, you can ensure your company’s success. These small business tips are just a few of the many ways you can increase your profits while helping your customer base grow. By taking each step at a time, you can help your business grow and blossom into a successful venture.

Basics About SaaS 101

So, what is SaaS 101? That’s a good question and the answer goes a long way. SaaS stands for Software as a Service. This technology-based approach to the business enables organizations to deliver applications and services via the Internet. The popularity of these solutions is growing, just as the Internet itself is becoming more ubiquitous. Today, more people access the Internet using their cell phones than ever before, and nearly everyone now has a clear idea about what an organization’s IT department does on a daily basis.

SaaS 101

The concept is fairly simple: a company’s IT department develops, implements, supports, monitors, and stores applications and services that enable it to do business. SaaS has enabled countless organizations to focus on its most critical activities such as data management, risk management, analytics, and manufacturing automation. These services can easily be applied to specific aspects within the business (customer care, marketing, human resources, accounting, etc.). By selling these SaaS applications, a company’s IT staff can become anything from data administrators to software engineers.

In order to understand what’s so important about SaaS, it helps to take a step back and examine the industry. Sales is one of the biggest drivers of the economy, and without sales people there would be no commerce. But the SaaS definition does not stop there. It means that the company’s IT personnel must work to support the sales force as well. They must create a seamless interface for both services to work seamlessly together, and they must track all metrics and performance of both services and the business.

Consider a typical customer satisfaction survey that is performed by a large, well known organization. The survey will ask questions regarding various aspects of a typical saas plan, and it will seek to find out how well those plans are meeting their customers’ needs. The customer satisfaction survey will look closely at things like how easy it is to obtain new customers, how easily a product or service can be delivered, whether or not the customers were able to tell the difference between the quality of the product or service they received, and how easy it was for them to make a return on their investment. All of these things are part of the definition of enterprise resource planning.

Now let’s take a closer look at saas metrics. These include but are not limited to sales, availability, response, cost, and profit. All of these factors are included in the measurement of success for any saas plan. But they are only part of the equation. There is also a focus on customer satisfaction, and this can be found in the metrics that follow. So for a company to truly understand saas, it must understand the customer, and what motivates them, and their level of satisfaction after using the product or service.

To further this process, there has to be a focus on the future, and what might be the issues that may arise in the near future, as well as the issues that can be addressed in the future. This is what saas planning is based on. If a company fails to properly address these issues, they may find that the customer dissatisfaction they are experiencing is more than just an immediate problem, but a breakdown of their company. This is why it is very important that saas plans address the current and future issues that may arise. There are many different things that may occur as a result of customer dissatisfaction, and they include but are not limited to:

Once a company has developed a saas plan, they need to be able to measure how successful they are at achieving the goals that were set forth in the saas plan. There are a number of ways that this can be done. One way is to have a look at the income statement, which will show a company’s net income after expenses, all of which are accounted for under the expense section. Another measure that is often used is to compare the net profit made by the company to the revenue, which is the section that more accurately expresses how much money was made from the customer.

Companies that make the investment in getting saas training will be able to use the training to make their company more effective. It is also a cost effective way to increase the number of customers they have, as well as their customer satisfaction. The profits of the company will be more than happy with the investment in saas training and will be able to continue its high level of success. saas training is a great way for companies to use in order to make the business more successful.

Choosing Which SaaS Software You Need When Launching Your Business

Introduction: As a software entrepreneur and SaaS vendor, I regularly get asked what is SaaS 101. In fact, one of my first articles on this subject was called “SaaS 101: Creating an Innovative Consumer Platform” – which explains why I am penning this article today. In this article, I’d like to discuss one of the most important topics there is when it comes to selling SaaS (software as a service) solutions: The Business Case. But first, let me give you my definition of a SaaS “cosystem”.

“A SaaS ecosystem is a collection of products, services, and associated processes that have been built into one cohesive platform. It is usually sold to the end user for minimal cost. Consumers gain access to these services via an application interface, usually web-based. The end users can use the services without having to understand any programming or coding, and often do so without any significant IT assistance. The purpose of the system is to provide a convenient and integrated solution to a business’s needs.”

Okay, but what does that have to do with SaaS services and how do I define them? Well, I’ll take a cue from Bill Gates and Eric Schmidt, who are responsible for the original concept of “open source” – and one of its most popular extensions: the open source licensing model. Gates and Schmidt point out that they created the term to allow for mass adoption of low cost software by large companies; something that has yet to occur. Essentially, when an individual purchases a SaaS for their company, they are making an investment in their company’s future – and that future could well be the difference between success and failure. Therefore, when someone asks me what SaaS 101 is, I tell them: It’s the foundation on which your company will stand.

Now then, what does that have to do with you needing SaaS services? Consider this: You start up a service company and you realize that your needs for some services may exceed your company’s capabilities to provide. This means you need more resources – especially in today’s digital world. The beauty of this model is that the company doesn’t need to purchase its own hardware; they simply require a cloud provider to provide them with SaaS services via the Internet.

In other words, you don’t really need a computer to get started providing SaaS services to your customers. In fact, the only hardware you’ll need is an Internet connection. As for the software part of this equation, you’ll be able to quickly and easily configure your applications on a ready made template so long as your hosting company provides you with a platform to do this with. There are plenty of SaaS providers out there for your business to choose from. What it comes down to is this: You can either spend a tremendous amount of time learning the business model and the technical aspects of configuring applications, or you can simply head over to the Internet, pick up a few tools, and start implementing your own software.

For most businesses, however, the IT department may not be up to the task of installing and configuring all of the applications. For that, you’ll need to have an in-house SaaS team. Once you’ve chosen your cloud provider (which can vary greatly) and your application platform, the rest of the process should be fairly straightforward. In fact, it could be a matter of as little as a few mouse clicks to get your SaaS solutions up and running!

As for how long it will take you to get your first group of customers using SaaS services through the cloud, this too varies. This largely depends upon the kind of products you’re offering. If your offerings revolve around software and the like, the process should take no more than a few days to set everything up and test out your new services. That said, on the other hand, if your products revolve around hardware – such as printers and servers – you’ll likely need to wait a few months before you can begin selling the products to your first group of customers.

Of course, there’s one more thing you’ll need to consider: Since most SaaS providers offer a variety of SaaS solutions, you should be able to find one that suits your specific needs. For example, while you can find some SaaS software for web hosting that’s free, others will cost you money. Similarly, there are SaaS software options that are suitable for small businesses that don’t have a whole lot of inventory or other complicated needs. As a result, your choice in which SaaS provider to go with will depend upon the type of products you want to sell – and also upon your knowledge of how SaaS services generally work.

Small Business 101 – Starting a Successful Business

Small businesses face unique challenges that are not found in other types of businesses. In fact, many small businesses fail because of the unique set of circumstances that they were brought into. Here is a quick crash course in advertising 101 for the small business owner.

small business 101

Do not get off to a bad start-it does not matter if you are a technology company or a food service franchise, there is always some form of advertising to get your foot in the door. In fact, the more advertising you do, the better off you will be. But how do you get started? Here is a brief boot camp in small business basics:

Advertising 101: There are hundreds of different mediums that you can choose to advertise your small business. Advertising medium includes print, broadcast, and Internet. But let’s be real, your small business needs to have its own Web site. It is absolutely critical that you build your Web site before you start to get aggressive with advertising. Otherwise, all of your hard work and advertising dollars will be wasted.

Human resource: You need to develop an effective human resource team. This team consists of recruiters, accountants, and marketing people. The recruiters are responsible for sourcing qualified professionals, while the accountants look at your current human resources practices and create a strategy to improve these practices, and the marketing team focuses on ways to market your small business. The marketing team is also responsible for hiring professionals such as web designers, copywriters, and graphic designers who can provide your small business with the professional look and feel it needs to attract and retain customers.

Marketing 101: Advertising is only part of the picture when it comes to drawing new customers and keeping them. The other part of the equation requires strong marketing. A small business owner needs to develop an extensive marketing plan in order to grow his or her small business. This plan must include a comprehensive budget, a long-term plan, strategies for attracting new customers, and tactics for keeping the customers you already have happy.

Technology: Just as important as it is to develop an effective human resource team, a small business owner must also consider investing in technology that allows him or her to communicate effectively with his or her clients. This includes using e-mail, social media, phone, fax, and Web 2.0 technology. In addition, your business should utilize technology that helps you streamline your workflow and reduce waste. For example, many small business owners report being overwhelmed by the volume of paperwork they have to handle. In response, they use computer software that can perform the overwhelming tasks of tracking orders, sending email alerts when items are ready to ship out, and so on.

Relationships: Small businesses are more successful when they establish good relationships with their customers and suppliers. That means establishing a strong relationship with the people who matter most in your life. It may mean working with a virtual assistant once or twice a week, or having a dedicated floor planner. Regardless, of how big your business is, if you don’t treat your employees well, your business won’t last long.

Small Business 101 is essential to the long-term success of a small business. While it may seem like the small business owner’s problems are insurmountable at first, if a person keeps these five business tips in mind, they can face many challenges and still keep the small business thriving. By following these helpful tips, you can be on your way to running a successful small business.
